Nordictrack Cxt 990 Elliptical [REPACK]

The CXT 990 is an incredibly smooth exerciser that moves your feet in a natural elliptical path, minimizing the impact on your knees and ankles. And the unique CXT 990 features adjustable resistance and incline to help you get the most from your exercise. "Reflex Step Technology" eliminates dead spots in the elliptical cycle and provides a smoother motion. The advanced console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more enjoyable and effective. When the manual mode of the console is selected, the resistance of the elliptical cross-trainer and the angle of the incline ramp can be changed with a touch of a button. As you exercise, the console will provide continuous exercise feedback. You can even measure your heart rate using the hand grip pulse sensor. The console also offers eight smart workout programs. Each program automatically changes the resistance of the elliptical cross-trainer and prompts you to increase or decrease your pace as it guides you through an effective workout.

In 2009 I bought a Nordictrack elliptical exercise machine, model Audiostrider 990 (PDF link). As home exercise machines go, it's fine. It's uses variable magnetic resistance and it folds up fairly compactly. It also has two front wheels that it can be tilted on them and moved around.

The NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 elliptical offers a wide range of workouts -- 24 in all. Twenty of these programs take you through a variety of resistances to focus on aerobic, weight loss or performance goals. There are two HR (heart rate) programs where the machine increases or decreases resistance automatically to keep you in the Target HR Zone.

At $999, the NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 elliptical needed to hold up to the highly regarded AudioStrider 800, which it manages to do quite well. This is a good choice for a starter cardio machine. 041b061a72
